OFFICAL RULES

1. PROMOTION: - If NASA's Mars Exploration Mission team discovers conclusive evidence that an oceanic body of water currently exists or previously existed on the planet Mars, and an Official Declaration of such existence is made on or before February 29, 2004, Long John Silver's will offer every person in the United States the opportunity to obtain one (1) free Giant Shrimp (Approximate Retail Value of $0.79) ("Free Giant Shrimp") at participating Long John Silver'sŪ restaurants in the United States. No product substitution, cash redemption or alternative will be allowed.

The Official Declaration is defined as a statement declaring NASA's official position made by an official and current member of the Athena Science Payload Investigation team and published or announced as such to the general public. An Official Declaration would include, by way of example and not limitation, posting of NASA's official position declaration on the NASA Mars Program web site: http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov. An ocean body of water shall be defined as a single body of water the surface area of which equals or exceeds 5,000,000 km2. NASA's use of words such as "may" and/or "might" in describing the degree of certainty of the existence of an oceanic body of water represent an insufficient degree of certainty for the purposes of this promotion and will not constitute a qualifying official declaration.

2. ELIGIBILITY: - No Purchase Necessary. This offer is open to legal residents of the United States only. Void in all other countries. Promotion offer is not open to employees and their immediate families of Long John Silver's, Inc., or its affiliated companies, including without limitation, Yum! Brands, Inc., and its affiliates.

3. SPONSOR: - Long John Silver's shall have sole discretion in awarding designated product to eligible individuals for the "Mars Giant Shrimp" promotion.

4. HOW TO OBTAIN A FREE GIANT SHRIMP: - Upon Official Declaration (see above definition) and confirmation of existence of ocean water on Mars (see ocean water definition), Long John Silver's will announce via a press release, its Web site (www.ljsilvers.com) and the media how U.S. residents can obtain their free Giant Shrimp on the designated day of March 15, 2004. On March 15, 2004, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., consumers may visit any participating Long John Silver'sŪ restaurant in the United States to request a Free Giant Shrimp. Limit one Free Giant Shrimp per person. Everyone in line at a participating Long John Silver's restaurant before 5 p.m. (local time) is eligible. In the event that supplies are exhausted as of 5 p.m., Long John Silver's will use its best efforts to issue rain checks to those in line at 5 p.m. (local time).

5. Void where prohibited, taxed or restricted.

6. Odds of a successful redemption of this offer are not calculable by traditional means.

7. Long John Silver's may discontinue this offer at any time. Long John Silver's and its affiliates shall have no liability in connection with this promotion or the acceptance or use of the prizes.
