Company's Chief Marketing Officer Compliments Team on "Outstanding Speed of Service"

LOUISVILLE, KY, April 1, 2004 - The Long John Silver's cycling team made a stop at the company's headquarters in Louisville, Ky., on March 19, prior to participating in the Iroquois Park Criterium in the Derby City. The Friday afternoon visit was a great chance for company employees and cycling fans to get a good look at the team members, who spent the rest of the weekend pedaling along at a pace recreational cyclists can only dream about.

"We were honored that the Long John Silver's cycling team visited our headquarters while in Louisville," said Mike Baker, the company's Chief Marketing Officer. "These world-class athletes are great representatives for our brand. They're all about speed and performance, two qualities that are very important to Long John Silver's."

While at the headquarters of Yum! Brands (parent company of Long John Silver's), the team met with headquarters staffers, toured the facility, and posed for photos.

On Saturday, March 20, the team turned in an impressive performance at the Iroquois Park Criterium in Louisville, earning four of the top eight positions in the race, which featured 60 riders. Josh Carter finished second overall for Long John Silver's. Other leading LJS riders included Jeff Schroetlin (fourth overall), Brian Dziewa (sixth) and Trevor Lister (eighth).

Sponsorship for the Illinois-based team is provided by Al Dziewa, a Long John Silver's franchisee and cyclist. Dziewa's son Brian is a member of Team LJS. Dziewa operates a Long John Silver's franchise restaurant in Farmington, Mo.
